Biography: |
Peter is a former chair
of InternetNZ, and is chairman of
its International Affairs Committee. He is a current board
member of
APTLD (since June 2000) and its Chair. He has been active in
developing a role for the cctlds in relation to ICANN, serving
as the
APTLD member of the ccTLD's international Administrative
Committee, and on the Launching Group of the ccNSO.
He has been involved in internet governance since 1998,
providing, as
part of the Boston Working group, critical input into the draft
bylaws
before the incorporation of ICANN. He has served on a number of
ICANN committees, including the Independent Review Advisory
Committee and recently the cross constituency Working Group on
the WSIS.
Peter was selected by the ccNSO Council as a director of ICANN on 18 January 2005, after a members' vote in December 2004. |

Shariya Haniz Zulkifli (LLB, University
of Bristol, UK; Middle Temple Inn) was a practising solicitor specialising
in telecommunications law prior to joining MIMOS Berhad in 1997. She served
as Regulatory and Legal Adviser to the JARING division, Malaysiaˇ¦s first
Internet Service Provider. During this time, she was a major contributor in
both the development of numerous pioneering communications legislations and
the implementation of the relevant Acts objectives pursuant to their
enactment. This covered a diverse range of Internet-related issues such as
licensing, addresses, security, abuse, content, consumer, digital signatures
and privacy.
Shariya is presently head of the MYNIC division. Her responsibilities
include managing the policy, systems, registration and billing functions.
Shariya has been involved in APTLD since 1998 and was one of the principal
drafters of the original constitution. She represents MYNIC in APTLD and
ICANN meetings and other international forums.

Yumi Ohashi had been liaison in the international
affairs field in JPNIC since 1997. Since after she moved to JPRS in 2001,
she has taken advantage of the experience in JPNIC and served in developing
the management framework of the .jp top-level domain among JPRS, JPNIC,
ICANN, and the Government of Japan, which resulted in execution of the
Sponsorship Agreement between JPRS and ICANN. In addition to the
international liaison, she has been actively involved in policy making of
registration services of .JP domain names.

Jaeyoun Kim is a coordinator of international affairs at NIDA (National Internet Development Agency of Korea). He has been responsible for international affairs and .kr DNS & SRS operation at NIDA. He is also board member of the APTLD (Asia Pacific Top Level Domain Association) which represents country codes in the Asia Pacific region.
He is specialized in international Internet policies and technologies such as DNS, IP, NGN, etc. Especially, he is professional in Network Designing & Implementation with high-level experience.
He has been participating in ICANN ccNSO, ITU-T, APTLD, and other international symposiums as a representative of the .kr ccTLD. He also participated in the Second Phase of the WSIS and IGF preparation process as a delegate of the Korean government and played an important role in the Internet Governance Task Force Team of the Korean government.
He was also a senior technical consultant of the NIDA consortium for CORE++. He worked as a director and programmer for I.T. consulting firms that specialized in Internet social-ware development, systems integration, and e-commerce.
In addition, he has consecutively filled various posts in several NGOs as coordinator of international affairs and has a wide experience in international cooperation projects.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Loyola Schools, Ateneo de Manila University and M.S. degree in Electronic and Telecommunication at Kwangwoon University.

Chris, was for 18 years a corporate
lawyer in the U.K. and Australia, and has experience in all
aspects of corporate law including public and private companies,
international trading and negotiation, take over mergers and
acquisitions compliance and capital raising.
For over ten years
he has held executive management positions and directorships
in private and public companies in the U.K. and Australia. These
companies have included those involved in mining, e-commerce
and the Internet.
He was appointed CEO of auDA in October 2000.
auDA is the self regulatory body governing the .au domain space.
On 1st July 2002 auDA introduced new domain name policy and
competition in the supply of domain names in Australia.
He is
currently a Board member of the apTLD and a member of the ICANN
ccNSO Assistance Group.

Jonathan Shea is the Chief Executive Officer of HKIRC, registry for the ..hk ccTLD. Since Jonathan joined HKIRC in 2002, the number of .hk domain names has increased from around 60,000 to more than 100,000 at present. A new category for personal users, .idv.hk, and second-level .hk, were introduced in 2003 and 2004 respectively. Jonathan believes in further opening up the domain name market by introducing the registry-registrar model and Chinese ..hk.
Jonathan has 20+ years of experience in IT, telecom and Internet industries. Starting as an electronic and telecommunications engineer, Jonathan has in-depth knowledge in the technological development of data networking and the Internet. Before taking up the CEO role in HKIRC, Jonathan was the Chief Technology Officer and Chief Information Officer in a number of telecom and Internet service operators.
Jonathan would like to contribute more to the development of ccTLD administration and operation, and Internet governance in relation to domain name administration in the Asia Pacific region.

Mr. Richard St. Clair of Niue is a co-founder of and past Chairman of
the Pacific Islands Chapter of the Internet Society (PICISOC). Richard
is also a co-founder of the Internet Users Society - Niue, the
organization responsible for the .NU ccTLD.
He brought the Internet to Niue in 1997 and now serves as operations
chief and technical manager for IUS-N's free Internet services there.
He has a background in RF communications, which merges well with
today's wifi explosion world-wide. Originally from San Jose,
California, the entrepreneur retired in 1992 and ventured into
communications development in emerging nations. Serving as a Peace
Corps volunteer from 1994 to 1997, he was in the first group of Peace
Corps volunteers to Niue and later moved back into private sector
development to continue the development of the Internet services.
He lives on Niue with his Niuean wife, Sue.

Ms Ai-Chin Lu was involved the formation of TWNIC and has served as the Acting Executive Director since the beginning of 2004. Prior to this appointment, she was the Director of .tw registry department, which she played a strategic role in composing and executing .tw registration policy guidelines, whereas she was also required to be responsible for the promotion and marketing plans . In March 2003, she was appointed as the Deputy Executive Director and supervised general administration of TWNIC and government/ public affairs related to the organization.
Prior to the establishment of TWNIC, Ms. Lu served as the Chief System Architect at the Ministry of Education and has over 10 years experiences in system management and design. She participated in the works of ICANN and APNIC from the early stage. Notably Ms. Lu devoted herself in the IDN development. She has been the key member of CDNC (Chinese Domain Name Consortium) and JET (Joint Engineering Task Force). Ms. Lu holds Master degree in Computer Science from University of Missouri-Rolla, and Bachelor degree in Political Science from National Taiwan University. |
