1. Name of Committee
APTLD IDN (Internationalized Domain Name) Committee ( IDN Committee )
2. Objectives
The Committee's objectives are::
- to facilitate the sharing of information and technical assistance on IDNs among APTLD members and interested parties,
- to facilitate the preparation of an APTLD position in relation to ICANN’s pending review of the IDN guidelines,
- to suggest to the Board positions on other IDN issues.

5. Work Items
- Plan and create necessary measures (for example, mailing list and workshop discussion,) for sharing of information and technical assistance on IDNs among APTLD members and interested parties.
- Monitor and gather the update information on global IDN development and provide to APTLD members as reference (To be discussed)
- F acilitate the preparation of an APTLD position in relation to ICANN’s pending review of the IDN guidelines and other international fora (To be discussed)
6. Preliminary Action Plan (2005 and 2006 )
- July 2005: Send out the Committee Charter for members’ and Board’s approval
- August 2005: Set up IDN mailing list ( idn-com@aptld.org ) and invite APTLD member’s involvement.
- Jordan Meeting (late Oct. or early Nov.) prepare the first Committee report on its activities and update report on global/AP IDN development.
- AGM 2006 (Feb or Mar 2006): Prepare and organize one meeting session on IDN development of each member country.
- Prepare APTLD position on ICANN’s review of IDN guideline (when needed)
7. Budget
Any cost for IDN Committee’s activities to be approved by the Board.
